ABOUT

Time to Get Active is a virtual challenge where we ask you to run, cycle or design your own challenge this September.

As this is a virtual event you can choose when to take part and where to exercise. At home before breakfast, over a weekend or on your lunch break – the choice is yours.

You can track your progress and compete with others in both distance completed and money raised through our leaderboards

We are encouraging everyone taking part to try and raise £50 for Parkinson's UK. You will also have the chance to earn prizes for your fundraising. You can find out more about our incentives here

All of the money raised will support our exercise programme. A gift of £50 could go towards helping an expert physiotherapist run tailored, online exercise classes. Exercise helps people to manage symptoms, and slow the progression of Parkinson's

About Parkinson's UK

We are Parkinson's UK. Europe’s largest charitable funder of Parkinson’s research. Powered by people. Funded by you.

Together we'll find a cure. Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Where will your money go?All of the money raised from Time to Get Active will support our exercise programme. A gift of £50 could go towards helping an expert physiotherapist run tailored, online exercise classes. Exercise helps people to manage symptoms, and slow the progression of Parkinson's.

Exercise is especially good for people with Parkinson’s – here’s what we know:

  • Doing 2.5 hours of exercise a week can slow the progression of symptoms.
  • Exercise not only helps to manage physical symptoms but also sleep problems, mood and mental health.
  • Exercise can be as important as medication to help people with Parkinson’s take control and manage their symptoms.

The money you raise during your challenge will help us change attitudes about exercise for people with Parkinson’s, and provide more opportunities for people to take part in exercise.
